Running on Delusion

I’ve done some questionable endurance events in my life, but this might be the most delusional one yet. 😂 Next year, my friend, Kate and I are taking on The PONDO. A 3-day trail run that raises funds for the Pondoland Conservation Trust, working to protect the extraordinary Wild Coast, and Miles for Smiles Foundation, helping provide life-changing surgery to children born with cleft lips and palates.

Neither of us are trail runners. We’re not elite athletes. We’re two women with jobs, families, busy lives, and a slightly ridiculous belief that we can train our bodies to carry us 103km.

Hence the team name: Running on Delusion (and we have a blog where you can join our journey!)

We’ve set ourselves a fundraising target of R100,000.

We’re not looking for enormous donations (although we won’t say no!). R50, R100, R500. It all adds up.

If you’ve ever watched me do something slightly ridiculous and thought, “I’d pay money to see how that turns out”, this is your opportunity. 😂

Our BackaBuddy campaign is officially live:

And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this post would mean just as much. The further we can take this story, the more good we can hopefully do with it.

Two friends, two causes, and an unreasonable amount of optimism.

Let’s see where a little delusion can take us. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️❤️
